The School Information System (SIS) is a system used to collect school information and manage school operations and management.


This SIS system is used to increase efficiency in the provision of primary education services starting from the school, county, council and region levels.


Users of this system are employees who are teachers and those who are not teachers at the school level, the education officer at the ward level, the education department at the council level, the education department at the regional level, ministries and development stakeholders.


This system is available in the following ways: -


1. Mobile APP called SIS Tanzania which is available on Playstore (Android).


2. WEB which is available at the following address SIS Tanzania.



USER OF SIS SYSTEM AT SCHOOL LEVEL


Head of the School


After the Head of the School is registered with the IT Officer of the Council, the following are his duties: -


1. Register and manage users at the school level.


2. Assigning roles to users


3. Making currents


4. Assigning teachers to classes.


5. Organizing teachers for Lessons


6. Lessons for Classes


Attention


The Head of the school will be able to perform all duties after the account has been created by the IT Officer of the Council


A: How to log into the system


After registering with the Council's IT Officer, start by opening your browser on a computer that is connected to the internet. The browser can be Google ChromeMozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.



Then write the following address sis.tamisemi.go.tz.


i. Start by entering the "Username" and "Password" created by the IT Officer of the COUNCIL


ii. Then Click the button labeled "LOG IN" so you can log in to the system.



Once the system opens for the first time, a page will appear asking you to change the password. Write the password (Default Password) which is secret, then write a new password and check it.


After that Save your information. The system will log you out and ask you to log in again, enter your email address and new password and then click the button labeled log in.



Once the system is opened for the first time this will be the first page showing the menus to be operated by the Head of School.



B: Register Employee


After successfully logging into the system and checking the information of the classes that appear on the Dashboard, the Head of School must register the staff (Teachers and Deputy Teachers) in the respective school. 


In order to be able to complete this registration do the following:


i. The Head of school will click on the menu labeled Employees


ii. Then click on the sub-menu labeled Register an Employee


iii. A page will open that will enable him to register an employee as seen



After successfully registering a school level employee, the Head of School should click on the Users menu found on the left side of his page.


After clicking, a page will open that will allow you to assign tasks to newly registered employees as seen here;



C: How to Create Student Streams


After successfully registering and assigning roles to staff at the school level, the Head of School must create class streams by clicking on the menu labeled school found on the left side of his page


Then clicking on the sub-menu to create streams Successfully creating streams will enable the Head of School to be able to organize teachers by classes, lessons by classes and teachers by lessons.

D: Assigning Subject for Classes


Click on the menu labeled School and then click on the sub-menu labeled Class Subjects and then a page will open that will enable you to organize Class Subjects for classes as shown below;



E: Assigning Teachers to Classes


Click on the menu labeled Staff and then click on the sub-menu labeled Teachers for Classes and then a page will open that will enable you to arrange teachers for classes as shown below;



F: Assigning Subjects for Teachers


Click on the menu labeled Staff and then click on the sub-menu labeled Subject Teacher and then a page will open that will enable you to organize teachers for lessons as shown;



G: Staff Attendance


How to Take staff attendance?


To be able to take the attendance of staff, the Head of School will open the menu labeled Staff and then click on the sub-menu labeled attendance, after that a page will open that will allow him to take attendance as shown below



H: Checking Staff Attendance


After successfully taking attendance, the Head of School can also check the attendance of staff in his school by going to the menu labeled Staff and clicking on the sub-menu labeled Check Attendance and then the following page will open as shown below:



I: Check the List of Students


The Head of School can also check the list of students filtering by their class streams. Go to the menu labeled Students and then clicks on the sub-menu labeled List of Students and the following page will open;



J: Check Student Attendance


The Head of School can also check student attendance filtering by their class streams and attendance period. Go to the menu labeled Students and then clicks on the sub-menu labeled Check Attendance and the following page will open;



K: Report


One of the menus that the Head of School sees is the report menu. The school principal sees various reports in the system that enable him to make various decisions in the daily activities of school management.


Click on the menu labeled report and then you will open a page that will enable you to open the report;
