Santa Maria Institute of Health and Allied Sciences (SMIHAS) established on July 2019 under the National Council for Technical Education Act (No. 9 of 1997), Cap. 129 read together with regulation 3 of the Technical Institution Registration Regulations, 2011 (GN No. 279) as the Health Training Institution for Provision of Technical Health Education for students.
The Institute follows the NTA system under the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) and guidelines from the Ministry of Health Community Development Gender Elderly and Children.
The Institute is wholly owned by the Max Educational Services Limited (MESL) which controls and oversees its day to day operations and compliance with the law of the United Republic of Tanzania.

1. Pharmaceutical science admission regulations
Program Duration: 3 years
The candidate must have D pass in four subjects including D pass in Chemistry and Biology and any other two D pass except religious subjects and must have completed NTA level 5 in Pharmaceutical Sciences in an institution recognized by NACTE.
2. Technician Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences
The candidate must have D pass in four subjects including D pass in Chemistry and Biology and any other two D pass except religious subjects and must have completed NTA level 4 in Pharmaceutical Sciences in an institution recognized by NACTE.
3. Clinical medicine admission regulation
Program Duration: 3 years
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including "D" Passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language Is An Added Advantage. AND Holder of Technician certificate in clinical Medicine
4. Technician Certificate in Clinical Medicine
The candidate must have D pass in four subjects including D pass in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences and any other D pass except religious subjects and must have completed NTA level 4 in Clinical Medicine program from an Institution recognized by NACTE.
